Novelty, Missouri is a small town located in Knox County in the northeastern part of the state. According to the 2010 United States Census, the population of Novelty was 139 people. The town was founded in 1875 and was named after a local novelty store. Novelty is situated on the eastern banks of the South Fabius River and is surrounded by rural farmland. The town has a post office and a handful of businesses, including a hardware store, a grocery store, and a pizza restaurant. The community is served by the Knox County R-1 Consolidated School District and is home to two churches: a United Methodist Church and a Christian Church. Despite its small size, Novelty is known for its strong sense of community and its agricultural heritage. The town hosts an annual tractor pull and a nostalgic Fourth of July celebration with a parade and fireworks.
